Amelia and I took Eric to the airport early last Friday morning (January 2nd) to go to our friends' wedding in Seattle (Congrats to Anthony + Kerry!) We spent the first part of the day at home then we headed over to Minidi's house to hang out for a bit. She watched Amelia while I ran to the post office. Everything seemed to go well my first day without Eric until bed time! Amelia did not want to go to sleep. I was up for most of the night, until 6am.
On Saturday, I tried to keep busy and went to my friend Kathrina's house (who is due with a girl in March) for a walk and then to my parents' house. Saturday night went a little better. I decided to go with what I know works: the couch. Amelia will fall asleep on me after nursing when I'm on the couch so that's what we did! I slept part of the night on the couch with her sleeping on me and part of the night in bed. I've come to realize she just likes to be near people. I feel like I actually got a few hours of sleep.
Sunday I spent a good part of the day at my parents. We looked at pictures from Hanukkah my dad took and I showed them photos from Christmas with the Carneys in Cayucos.
