Apparently in some new borns the Frenulum of the tongue can be a little short or tight and can interfear with breast feeding and prevent the baby from sticking out their tongue.In an effort to improve the nursing we went to a special dentist whom quickly and easily snipped the frenulum. We were worried that it would be super painfull for Amelia but she didn't seem to notice, her crying stayed at the same level it was already at. We tried feeding right after but things didn't seem to be any better. Hopefully with time the nursing will improve.

Oh my! Will having a Frenulum snipped have any negative effects? I didn't even know what a Frenulum was. I wish I was there to see little Amelia day by day. Glad to hear that she gained a couple of ounces over the past day. You guys are doing great with working through the challenges.
