Done with work, for a while...

I had my last day on Christmas Carol yesterday.  I'll only be occasionally doing stuff for my company.  Allyson has told her freelance clients that Friday is the last day that she'll be available to work on their projects.  So we are now entering baby mode full-time.

We get all sorts of advise as soon to be parents.  On my last day "Bob Z" gave me this advise, "being a parent is like flying a plane.  90 percent of the time it consists of a boring tedium punctuated by occasional moments of shear terror."  I'm not sure what it means either, but the guy has 3 nannies so his experience of being a parent is going to be different than mine... I also don't fly planes...

Today was our first full-time baby mode day.  We started off by meeting with our doula, and ended the day buying 5 different types of diapers, so many choices it's dizzying...

Hi Guys: Well the Diaper choices use to be simple, you had cloth diapers,, then sometime while Allyson was almost potty trained came Pampers!! Now we know that Pampers etc are not great for the planet earth, so it is back to cloth diapers. As the song goes we go round and round and up and down. Whatever the choice I know that the two of you will figure out how to diaper the baby really fast :)))Love

5 types of diapers? It is so much more complicated having a baby today than when you were born, Eric. I am also still trying to imagine how the new covers for the cloth diapers work. I look forward to learning all about the modern ways of doing things.
Love to you both.
