We saw the Doctor yesterday after the ultra-sound. She said that Allyson was still only 70% effaced but now 2.5 - 3cm dilated. She thought that we should induce next week. We decided we'd rather wait for the baby to come naturally, which will hopefully be soon.

Reports of Sporadic Contractions...
Allyson has been having the Braxton Hicks contractions for a couple of weeks. And now it feels to her like she is getting the occasional "real" contraction. She thought she had a couple 2 nights ago and another one this morning. She described it as a tightening of the stomach muscles for 15-20 seconds. They are really mild and really short and really infrequently. I guess that's how they can start, slowly at first and then gradually increasing in frequency and severity until you have active labor. Of course this could take several days or even weeks.
