More vacationing: Chrismakkah in Tahoe

Everyone got the bug. The Norovirus is one nasty beast which took down 8 adults and one kid in a matter of a few days. Thankfully it only lasts a day or two and then you're back to your old self again.

We flew to Sacramento on Wednesday, December 23rd, where Tom picked us up and drove us all to Tahoe. He was the first of the in-laws to get it since he was the first to make contact. Janis and Lara got it a day later since we didn't see them until Thursday.

Besides the virus, there was also lots of snow! Amelia had already seen snow but didn't really get a chance to play in it. So, we headed out to the beach, which of course was covered in snow, and brought a saucer with a long rope with us.

She loved being pulled around in the snow--the faster the better! Better still if we could go around in circles. It was really beautiful to be out by the lake and I loved having Eric there for 6 days in a row! He went snowboarding one day but the rest of the time we just kicked it in the condo.

Christmas day was kind of a disaster because that's when Lara and Janis both got sick. It wasn't until the end of the day, but by the time we were even contemplating dinner, both were down and out. We spent the next few days being very quiet, which was kind of nice. Amelia took quite an affinity to her grandpa Tom and he had the pleasure of walking back and forth in the living room for what seemed to be hours at a time! She also loved to sit in his lap and have him read her Baby Cakes, her favorite book, or take her to the kitchen and play with the magnets on the fridge. At this point, she was not fully walking on her own, though she could if needed.

All in all, we had a very lovely time in Tahoe. It snowed a little, the sun was out a bit, and the grandparents/auntie got to spend quality time with Amelia.

Pictures to follow!
