Visit to daddy's office
Last Friday Amelia and I went to Malibu to visit my friend Lisa and get my haircut. While we were there, Amelia got to pet her first doggie and check out a giant Iguana! My mom went too so she could watch the baby while I was having a much needed trim. After the do was done, it was off to Playa del Rey (or Playa Vista, I can never remember which is which!) to visit Eric at work. We met him for lunch and then got to take a little tour of the facility.
While we were there, Amelia's friends, Jessica and Regina, were more than happy to pose with her outside the building.
Amelia was a little fussy that day, and it started what I have come to call, the fussfest, which lasted from Friday, June 12, through Sunday, June 21st. It turns out Amelia was not teething as I had suspected, but rather, she had ANOTHER virus!!! This time, however, it was much worse and lasted much longer. She somehow contracted Coxsackievirus, a.k.a. Hand, Foot, and Mouth Disease. Sounds awful doesn't it!
Basically kids get blisters on their hands, feet and mouths, only Amelia didn't. She only got blisters on the back of her throat which made it hurt to swallow and made her drool (hence the misdiagnosis of teething).
Today was the first day I had my baby back and it was so nice to see her smile and hear her laugh. The only way I could ellicit that in the last week was to bounce and dance with her while listening to the Muppets! I got quite a workout!
