I love Saturdays. They begin with my exercise class at 8am, followed by a coffee at 9. Two hours all to myself.... Then, Eric and I have the entire day to spend together with Amelia. It really is my favorite day.
Today was no different. After coffee, Eric and I played with Amelia and then put her in the stroller for a walk. We made it to downtown Santa Monica (hoping to get to the bank before it closed to FINALLY open her account, but it was closed already). On the way home, we looked at all of the "for rent" signs, dreaming of finding the perfect, affordable apartment. Nope. Not today.
It was so beautiful out that we decided to take Amelia to the park to play. When I say park, I mean the grassy median near my place. It's peaceful and has great views of the mountains. Sometimes people exercise there, but today, it was just the three of us (and musical Mr. Ducky of course).
I don't know if it was the walk or the park, but Amelia was in a particularly talkative mood tonight. We actually captured some of it on tape. I hope, someday, to get those video clips up!
Amelia has been talking more, playing with her feet, kicking her feet in the tub, and being generally a great baby! It's just the nighttime sleep which gives her trouble. I wish there was someway for her to get it without having to work so hard!
A few things we did last week:
• Met Victora C. and Tulsi (her daughter) for lunch to celebrate Victoria's birthday. I'm sad to say, they're leaving the states and heading to Australia in a month or two.
• Did some actual freelance work. It was fun! I'm hoping to get more projects soon!
• Went to the park to meet my old neighbor Yoko and her two adorable kids, Vivian and Dean. They too are leaving Santa Monica soon, but for Hawaii!
