I have been sleep deprived. More so than I ever knew could be possible. Even being an insomniac has not prepared me for this type of awakeness. Last night a friend tried to say that he didn't sleep during college. I know what that was like and I had to stress to him that, while he may have missed some sleep in his early 20's, it's nothing compared to missed sleep in your late 30's with an infant to blame rather than a term paper. You can always walk away from your project for a few hours...
With Amelia not taking naps these days, it's been difficult for me to write anything; even taking pictures seems like a chore. I'm hoping she gets better about naps as she gets a little older. Maybe the 4 month mark will bring a little more sleep for both of us.
On a bright note, Amelia has been doing some very cool and fun tricks!
TRYING TO SIT UP!
I kid you not! She keeps trying and will be sitting up in no time. She loves it when I pull her up to sitting and then to standing. I always get a big smile (though it's occasionally accompanied by spit-up...)
GRABBING AND HOLDING ONTO THINGS
She has a little blanket she likes, a giraffe and a ball with holes. Those are her favorite things to hold (or maybe just the easiest). It's fun to see her realize she has it and then put it to her mouth.
HOLDING THE BOTTLE
Her newest thing is to hold the bottle while you feed her. I probably give her one a day and it seems like she just did it one day, without even any build up. Of course, I still hold it for safe keeping.
TALKING
Well, of course not REALLY talking, but babbling. She usually does it on the changing table or when you play with her on the mat. She's not super talky, but she will sometimes let you know she's there.
